Governor's Mansion Art Contest Winner
We are delighted to recognize one of our talented students, Emmylou Gaines, who recently earned 3rd place in the Governor’s Mansion Art Contest—a statewide competition that highlights the creativity and artistic skills of young students across Alabama.
Hosted by the Office of Kay Ivey, this annual contest invites fourth-grade students in Alabama to submit original artwork inspired by meaningful Alabama symbols. For the 2026 contest, students were challenged to create a piece centered on the Alabama state flower, the camellia, encouraging both artistic expression and research into state heritage.
The competition recognizes top artists with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards, along with honorable mentions, and winners are celebrated during a special reception and awards ceremony held at the historic Alabama Governor’s Mansion.
Thank you to Mrs. DeHuff and Ms. Cassidy, for encouraging our students' participation in this contest and submitting their work. We are incredibly proud of Emmylou for representing our school so well and showcasing her creativity. Congratulations!
