David Givens
David Givens earned Bachelor’s Degrees in Classical Studies and Marketing Management from Hillsdale College in 2002 as well as a Master’s Degree in Latin from the University of Florida in 2017. He has taught humanities courses at Eastwood for over two decades. In 2017 he became the Upper School Principal and continues to teach 3rd and 4th year Latin as well as a one semester senior literature class called, “Myth, Truth and the Gospel.” His wife, Ruth, teaches kindergarten at Eastwood and their three children attend Eastwood, making the school a true family affair. He and his wife (but mainly his wife) have directed the Eastwood spring musical for the past 20 years and organized the Cross Country program for the past three years. David says, “I love Classical Christian education because it recognizes that Truth exists. It prepares students to find that Truth-- even in the unlikeliest of places and helps them to see how that Truth finds its home in the source of all Truth, Jesus Christ.”
