Ruth Givens
Ruth Givens has been a part of the Eastwood family for the last two decades. She taught fourth grade for 2 years and stepped out of the classroom to raise her growing family. During those 8 years, she served as Children's Ministry Director at Taylor Road Baptist Church. She returned to the classroom to establish our K4 program and has been teaching K5 now for over 10 years. She has also directed the school's theatre program for the past two decades. She and her husband, David, coordinate and coach Eastwood’s Cross Country program. Ruth earned her Bachelor's of Science in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University and recently completed a Master's degree in Reading from Auburn and is licensed as a Reading Specialist. Ruth says, "One of my favorite aspects of the classical model of education is the focus it places on developing the whole man. At Eastwood, we are able to invest in each child's development, not just academically, but also socially, spiritually, artistically, and physically." Ruth and her husband David feel blessed to have had all three of their children (William '23, Lily '26, and Joseph '27) benefit from an Eastwood education.
