Hollie Harmon

Hollie Harmon has been an ECS teacher for over a decade and was an ECS parent for 20 years. Currently, Hollie teaches 6th grade computer and word processing and 10th grade current events, and she serves as our college counselor. She is from Montgomery, AL, where she attended Montgomery Academy and later received both a bachelor’s degree and a master's degree in Speech Pathology from Auburn University. She is the mother of five Eastwood Alumni.

Her reasons for teaching and sending her five children to ECS include a deep appreciation for a classical curriculum taught in the context of a Christian worldview by a faculty made up of people of good character. Hollie believes that the skills required to read a great work of literature, analyze it, and express the ideas of that work in writing or speech will be of tremendous value in a modern world. Perhaps this will not be a required skill at their job, but this kind of education helps promote problem-solving, greater attention span, a stronger vocabulary, and good communication skills.

Hollie enjoys keeping up with current events, watching Auburn football, visiting with her adult children and playing with her grandchildren, and going to the beach.
