Melanie Smith
Melanie Smith graduated magna cum laude from Auburn University at Montgomery in 2002 where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Childhood Education. In 2004, Melanie earned a Master of Education degree from Auburn University at Montgomery in Elementary Education. Melanie taught for twelve years in Montgomery Public Schools, including eight years at a magnet school. Additionally, she taught second grade at Eastwood Christian School from 2018-2020. Melanie is delighted to return to the classroom. She appreciates that Classical Christian education is not only formative to the mind but also to the soul.
Melanie, along with her husband, Matt, have been a part of the Eastwood community for over ten years. They have three children, all who have attended Eastwood since kindergarten. Melanie has enjoyed volunteering in the school library, being a room mother, and substitute teaching. The Smiths are members of Eastwood Presbyterian Church.
