Susan Gaines
Susan Gaines has served in ministry at Eastwood Christian School since 2001. She taught third grade for seven years before becoming Lower School Principal. She also served as the Interim Head of School for two years. Susan and her husband, John, moved to Montgomery with their three children in 1998 when John accepted the position of Senior Pastor of Forest Park Baptist Church. Before joining the faculty at Eastwood, Susan held ministry positions in South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia. She also served as manager of the Ronald McDonald House in Fort Worth, Texas, and as founding manager of the house in Louisville, Kentucky. She holds a B.A. in music and religion from Furman University and an M.A. in religious education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Susan also continued her education through the Biblical counseling program at Briarwood Presbyterian Church. Her three adult children are all graduates of E.C.S. and Auburn University. Her oldest son, Austin, his wife, Jeannie, and their son, John Rowell, live in Montgomery. Her son, Collin, lives in Dallas, Texas, and her daughter, Lauren, and her husband, Jared, live in Houston, Texas. She enjoys being a grandmother, playing the piano, singing, writing music, and interior design.
